New Seneca Pins a Hit (and one miss)
Today we had a random draw doubles to try out the new suggested pin placements. We had 13 players so for the doubles and several other that were at the course. Most of the feedback was positive.
Hole 2 - The first of the new pin placements. It’s longer and slightly left of the current pin placement and will a much more difficult placement to deuce. It’s fair and no complaints about the new placement.
Hole 3 - Shorter and way left of current location. You make the first turn and if you’re in the middle of the fairway, you’ll have a slight hyzer shot to the pin. Still a hard hole to deuce but will be a hole that most will be able to manage a 3.
Hole 4 - Longer and left. A really nice placement with a added degree of difficulty. I think this will be a hard hole to deuce.
Hole 5 - Longer…straight behind the current location which makes it a blind approach. I really see few deuces and a lot more 4s and 5s.
Hole 11 - Longer and over the creek. I actually threw past the hole today by 50′+. So the hole is reachable. Zach Rogers said that Jim Cunningham hit the top of the basket while practicing before the event. If you don’t make the turn, it will be a hard hole to ’save par’ on.
Hole 12 - Right of the current location and longer. Will take away the right-hand back-hand birdies but makes it a lefty type hole.
Hole 13 - Same distance…just a bigger turn around the corner. This is the only hole to get negative feedback. Some thought the new location added nothing to the hole. I like the new location and thought it made it more difficult for me. I guess it depends on whether or not you turn the corner.
Those are the holes with changes. We hope to see you at Seneca Disc Golf Course soon!
