2010 Greater Oconee
Rotating Single Series
The general idea: This series will rotate among Seneca, Walhalla, and Clemson. We will play the second Sunday (Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are the only scheduling conflicts) of each month. We will tee off at 10am and play two rounds per day. There will be beginner, intermediate, advanced, and pro divisions. During Clemson’s football season we may have to change up the rotation. We will try to avoid this but if a schedule conflict occurs we will notify players at the previous weeks tourney. Currently the payout plan is cash for pro and club bucks for beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The series will be a year long and starts January 10th 2010.
Things we are still figuring out:
· Cost to play
o We are thinking pros will pay twice as much as everyone else. Thus they will get paid more each month and the series payout should be good size. The remaining cash will go to the series prizes.
· Points
o Players will get points for; attendance, CTPs, aces, and each player in there class beat. We have not worked out the values yet … any suggestions?
· Bag Tags
o If you have a bag tag and you play your tag is in. We are thinking tags will be collected and redistributed by divisions (i.e., you can only win tags from players in your division).
· Pay outs
o We are thinking 60-80% of the cash brought in would go back out every month in cash or club bucks.
· Series prize
o Options abound here; cash, travel basket, bags, other baskets … etc
· Food
o Potlucks? Club sponsored lunches? Lunch Jump Up? (i.e., where you jump up and get you own lunch … anyone remember “Club Paradise w/ Robin William)
· Handicaps?
o The option of using the system available on Disc Golf U’s web page.

Mike - I like the idea. However, with all the tournaments in the area:
The UFO, Spring Sling, Firecracker Fling, State Doubles, Border Wars, Upstate Classic and the Golden Corner Classic, might this be better suited to being a twice a month event January through March? Play each course twice over three months.
Just an idea. I think the whole thing is great. Just something to consider.
I’d still like to see a rotating singles league one night a week through the summers months. Still using Walhalla, Seneca and Clemson and do Thursday night singles through the Summer months.
