GODG Courses

Greater Oconee Disc Golf is proud to have three-18 hole courses and a 9-hole course in Oconee County. With plans in the works for three more courses, Oconee County will soon have more courses than any-other county in South Carolina.  Each course links to the directions on the PDGA website.

Current Courses:

Seneca - Shaver Recreation Complex was established in 2004. It’s an 18 hole course with nice elevation changes and tight, wooded fairways.  This course hosts several tournaments a year including the Spring Sling, SC Doubles Championship and the Golden Corner Classic. Seven holes have multiple pin placements.

Tamassee - DAR School was established in 2008.  It’s a short 9 hole course. While it’s on school property, the course is open for public play. It’s in a over-grown field along the edge of some woods.

WalhallaSertoma Field was established in 2008.  It’s a short 18-hole course that wraps around a large field.  The course makes its way into and out of the woods several times and a creek with several small waterfalls comes into play on five holes.  Sertoma Field hosted two tournaments this past year.  The first being the SC State Juniors Championship and the second being the first day of the SC Doubles Championship.

ClemsonUniversity Beach was established in 2009.  While it has a Clemson address, the course is located on the Oconee County side of Lake Hartwell, just a few minutes from downtown Clemson and the University. It’s the longest course in Oconee County with several holes being over 500 feet from the long tees.  Most holes have multiple tees that are marked with flags.

Planned courses include:

Chau Ram County Park on Highway 76 West of Westminster. Oconee County Council has already approved the 18 hole course. The City of Westminster is responsible for the funding of the course and is currently doing a fund raising campaign. Plans are for it to have multiple pins and at least two sets of tees per hole.

Shaver Recreation Complex is getting a second course. Funding has been approved for a second course at the complex. The course will cover more than double the amount of property used for the current course. Plans are for a Championship Caliber Design with the course ranging in length from seven to 10 thousand feet. It will not be a course for beginners.

Seneca River is a development on Lake Keowee North of Seneca on Highway 130. Plans were announced in the summer of 2009 for the development and it includes an 18 hole Disc Golf course. No timeline has been established for this development.
